Parce que Cryssilda et moi ne craignons ni les défis impossibles, ni le ridicule (et aussi parce que nous avons l’intention d’aller voir le Faustus de Christopher Marlowe au Globe cette année), nous lançons le défi au plus faible potentiel d’attraction de la blogosphère :

Le challenge élisabéthain, le challenge pour lequel le plus grand défi est de trouver les pièces. L'enjeu est de lire au moins une oeuvre de cette période avant le 31 décembre 2011.

Le théâtre élisabéthain désigne les pièces de théâtre écrites et interprétées en Angleterre pendant le règne de la reine Élisabeth Ire (1558 - 1603). Le terme peut être employé plus largement pour inclure également le théâtre des successeurs immédiats d'Élisabeth, Jacques Ier et Charles Ier jusqu'à la fermeture des théâtres publics en 1642, au début de la première révolution anglaise.

Nous avons choisi cette définition élargie dans la bibliographie proposée en fin de billet.
